Archaeology And Their Definition

Over one and a half century of research many defined archaeology according to their own views and thoughts.Of coarse there were different definition about archeology as the time and technology changed which involved more of science and human behaviour.Many definition reflects how they feel about archaeology and many other are stated as viewed by popular media or spoken by archaeologist.
Archaeology or archeology[derived from greek : archaiologia "ancient" and -logia "logy"] is defined as the study of past human societies mainly through the recovery, study and detailed analysis of hte material culture and the data which they have left behind for us to examine. These data includes artifacts, architecture, biofacts and landscapes.
Archaeologist studies past human behavior through the examination of material remains of previous human societies which includes the fossils (preserved bones) of humans, food remains, the ruins of buildings, and human artifacts—items such as tools, pottery, and jewelery.
The study of past human culture and behavior, from the origins of humans to the present is also termed as archaeology.Due to variant range of procedures archaeology is considered both in science and humanity.
Archaeology studies human history/past until today from the development of first stone tools which was nearly about 3 million years ago. Learning about the prehistoric societies from the palaeolithic till the advent of literacy there are no record to be studied of the total human history. Archaeology helps us in understanding how the people lived their life in the past and how the life style has changed over a long period of time. Archaeological studies depends upon the various goals we have in our mind ranging from studying human evolution to cultural evolution and understanding culture history.
